Joy received her BFA from Paier College of Art in Connecticut, and she has taught at Creative Arts Workshop and at Paier College. As well as having her work in private collections from Maine to California, Joy has a painting in the collection of the New Britain Museum of Art in Connecticut.
Joy spent many summers on Monhegan painting en plein air and finding endless inspiration from Monhegan’s old trucks and houses. She continues to work using her love of Monhegan even though life has brought her to other places in the world.
“When I decide to paint something, it is from a need to experience life even more
profoundly and say something that cannot be described in words. It is my intent to
bring those new found experiences, thoughts and feelings into the world. I believe
that the act sharing these things deeply connect us all.”
