Bruce Kornbluth was born in NYC in 1947 and has spent part of every year at Monhegan since 1957. Following his graduation from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in English literature, he founded Clay City Pottery and was a studio potter for over thirty years. This included 10 years founding and running a large handmade pottery factory in the Dominican Republic. Currently he lives six months of the year on Monhegan Island and spends the rest of the year in Portland, Maine and traveling.
“I have been drawing and painting most of my life. I work with watercolor and ink; Monhegan and the Maine coast inform most of my work.”
