Susan Shaw’s art encompasses working as a painter (oil and watercolor), potter (porcelain), and teacher. Her work is infused with a vibrant color sense and a flair for abstraction, and reflects her love of landscape. Her paintings capture her interest in her natural surrounds – its atmosphere and light. Her work in porcelain incorporates a sensory experience in clay that extends beyond functional use.
Shaw is an exhibiting artist member of the Providence Art Club, and Rhode Island Watercolor Society, an elected artist member of the Art League of Rhode Island, member of Newport Art Museum, South County Art Association and elected artist member of Mystic Museum of Art.
