Caleb Stone, a native of the art colony of Rockport, Massachusetts, began drawing at age four, painting at seven, and attending professional artists’ workshops by the time he was twelve. He completed his academic training at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, and enjoyed many years of plein air landscape painting with his father, Don Stone N.A. His affinity for the French and American Impressionists and his choice of art as a career grew from and was nurtured by this rich environment.

Another lifelong influence has been his connection to Monhegan Island, where he has returned annually for many years to paint and to teach his popular workshops in watercolor and oil painting. His workshops are offered throughout the year in locations including Monhegan, Cape Ann, Tuscany and England.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the John Stobart Fellowship Award, the New England Heritage Award, the Wood Award for Excellence in Watercolor, the Land and Light Show Gold Medal, Best in Show Manchester by the Sea, and is an Elected Artist at the Lyme Art Association.

The exhibit will be on view throughout the 2021 season, from May 28 until October 10.
